Whenever you think about politics, chances are you're thinking about Trump, possible Russian involvement, or even the Illuminati. The truth is, politics don't exist at just the national and international level, but also on the state and local level. Dawson's US Government students learned this first hand by interviewing our Senator, Scott Taylor.

Senator Taylor addressing a question

Representative Scott Taylor himself appeared in form of a Skype call, on the ready to answer questions. He answered some interesting questions appertaining to his job. In the light of it all, he didn't seem like some figurehead reigning supreme over a nation, or even reigning supreme over his own room. He just seemed like a normal, everyday person, but even with that he realizes his own position. He stated it was tough being a Senator, stating, "I represent about [eight hundred-thousand] people, right? So clearly, I'll make a lot of people mad. I'm gonna make a lot of people happy, but I'm gonna make a lot of people mad."

It's an amazing thing that while there's global politics that rarely affects us personally on the go, there actually is a lesser scale version of politics that affect us every day. While the president can preside over the country, our Representative Scott Taylor will represent us.
